What month and year was your surrogate baby born?
“Aug. 2024”
What originally inspired you to look into surrogacy?
"I loved being pregnant and since we have completed our family this was another way to experience it again and also be apart of something beautiful."
What was your favorite or most memorable moment during this whole process?
“Hearing the first heartbeat with the Intended parents. It was an amazing moment for us all.”
What was the most unexpected part of this process?
“I wasnt expecting everything to go as smoothly as it did. Thankfully we had no major bumps in the road. It all worked out beautifully..”
How was the matching process?
"Unfortunately we didn't vibe well with the first couple, but that led us to the parents we ended up being with. Which it all worked out for the best. I couldn't have asked for a better set of IPs. They were great!. They constantly checked up on me and still even after baby’s been born. We have a great friendship now."
How was the pregnancy and how involved were the intended parents during the pregnancy?
"This pregnancy was one of my easier ones. No morning/motion sickness thankfully. Everything went well except the summer heat made those last couple months exhausting.
The parents were very involved l. They even sent me voice recordings for the baby. They were at every appointment, and always were there when I needed them."
How did you talk to your kids about surrogacy before, during, and after the birth?
"I showed them videos about the surrogacy process. Also some showing surrogates giving birth and Parents meeting their baby.
They were very excited to see me pregnant. They also liked the parents very much and were so happy for them.
After birth they were ready to have their full functional mommy back lol."
How was your delivery and post-pregnancy?
"My delivery was quick no complications. Recovery has been smooth since I went vaginally with no tearing."
What were your feelings when you saw the intended parent(s) hold their baby for the first time?
"The feeling was indescribable! I wish I could bottle it up.
I was just so proud of myself, and ecstatic for them! They were a family now, and their baby couldn't have been more perfect."
What was one thing you wished you would have had in your hospital bag that you forgot?
"Snacks ;-)"
What is your relationship and contact with the intended parents now?
“We text every so often. They also send me photos.”
What were some of the benefits of working with an agency?
"They made everything so much easier. I couldn't imagine doing it without their support."
What words of wisdom would you share with other/newer gestational carriers?
"If you're thinking about it... just do it! I let too much time go by and I wish I would've done it sooner. We're creating miracles and making someones dreams come true!"
If you decided to be a gestational carrier again, what would be the reason?
"To be able to experience pregnancy again and to help another person have their first child."
